Plain English first: this site publishes information about drain and sewer problems and connects you to an independent contractor by phone. It is not a plumbing company, it never charges you, and it is not part of whatever you and the contractor agree between yourselves.
What this service is
DrainDispatch is a referral service. We publish drain and sewer information and we route homeowner phone calls to independent plumbing contractors through a partner network. We are not a plumbing contractor, we hold no plumbing licence, we do not perform plumbing work, and we are not a party to any agreement between you and a contractor. Using this site or calling the number on it does not create a contract between you and us, and does not make us your agent or representative.
How we are paid, and what that means for you
Contractors in the partner network pay to receive calls. You are never charged for the referral. The direct consequence, stated plainly because you are entitled to know it: calls are routed on partner coverage and bids, not on a quality ranking. We do not represent that the contractor who answers is the best, cheapest or most qualified available in your area — only that they cover your ZIP code and were available when you called. You remain free to hang up, to get other quotes, and to hire someone else entirely.
No warranty on contractor work
Contractors reached through this service are independent businesses. They set their own prices, schedule their own work, carry their own insurance and licences, perform their own work and are solely responsible for it. We make no warranty, express or implied, as to any contractor’s workmanship, pricing, timeliness, licensing status, insurance status or conduct. Any dispute about work performed is between you and that contractor.
Verify the licence yourself
Plumbing licensing is a state matter and the requirements differ considerably. We link the issuing authority on every state page where we have verified which body it is. Ask for the licence number and check it with that authority before work begins and before you pay anything. We are not a licensing body and we do not independently verify every contractor’s licence.
Information on this site is general, not advice for your property
Everything published here — diagnostic explanations, cost ranges, environmental data, the drain risk index — is general information written for a national audience. It is not an inspection, not an engineering opinion, and not advice about your specific property. Drain and sewer work can involve buried utilities, structural elements, confined spaces and contaminated water. Nothing on this site should be read as encouragement to attempt work you are not competent and equipped to do safely.
Cost figures are not quotes
Cost figures are published third-party national ranges, attributed to their source and shown for educational context. They are not quotes, offers, estimates or price guarantees, and we do not set contractor pricing. Only a contractor who inspects your property can price your job. Where our sources disagree with each other we show the disagreement rather than averaging it away.
Accuracy, and what we do when we are wrong
We check figures against named sources and we correct errors when they are pointed out. We do not warrant that every page is free of error or fully current at every moment. If you find something wrong, tell us at the address below and we will fix it or remove it.
Availability
We do not guarantee that this site, or the phone routing behind it, will be available without interruption. Coverage changes: a ZIP code we can route today may not be routable later, and the reverse.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss or damage arising out of work performed by a contractor you reached through this service, out of reliance on general information published here, or out of the site being unavailable. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, in which case those limitations do not apply to you.
Acceptable use
Do not scrape this site at a rate that degrades it for other people, do not republish it wholesale as your own, and do not use the phone number published here for anything other than a genuine service enquiry. Automated dialling of the published number is not permitted.
Content ownership, and the one thing you may freely reuse
The written content, page structure and design of this site are owned by DrainDispatch. The exception is the Drain Risk Index dataset, which we publish under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence. You may republish, adapt and build on that data, including commercially, provided you attribute it. That is deliberate: data is more useful when it circulates.
Trademarks
Brand, franchise and product names referenced on this site — including those of national plumbing franchises and drain-cleaning products — are the property of their respective owners. Reference is editorial and comparative. It does not imply affiliation, endorsement, sponsorship or any commercial relationship, and we are not an authorised dealer, franchisee or agent of any of them.

Where we link to a state licensing authority, a data source or another external page, we do so because it is useful. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content.
Changes to these terms
These terms may change. The date at the top of the page changes when they do.
